The European Para Championships (EPC) will work together with Holla legal & tax. The leading law firm, with expertise in sports law, will become Official Supplier of the multi-sport event, which will take place this summer from 8-20 August in Rotterdam. Holla will assist the EPC in various legal challenges, providing valuable support to the event.
Lawyer Reinoud van Oeijen: "Holla deeply cares about athletes and sports organizations. Because we think supporting talent and inclusion is important, joining the European Para Championships fits very nicely. It's great to see the very first edition of this beautiful international event is taking place in the Netherlands. Given our theme 'Local Hearts Global Minds', this also fits in beautifully. So plenty of reasons to be a proud partner for the European Para Championships!"
Eric Kersten, founder of the European Para Championships, is delighted about the cooperation with Holla legal & tax: "With a brand-new international event like the EPC, it is important that we are assisted by a reliable legal partner. With so many different stakeholders on board and the long-term vision of organizing the European Para Championships 2027 in a major European city outside the Netherlands, Holla legal & tax is the ideal partner. Thanks to our partnership with Holla legal & tax, we are prepared for the future!"
Within Holla legal & tax, sports law is one of the many areas of law the firm is proficient in. Van Oeijen: "What makes sports law so interesting and dynamic is that it has multiple legal challenges. Think, for instance, of sponsorship contracts (negotiations), portrait rights, privacy, legal structures, but also conflicts and personal injury." Within this broad area of sports law, Holla assists all kinds of companies and athletes who are involved in sports to a greater or lesser extent."
The European Para Championships is a unique event that brings together 10 different parasports. Athletes will compete for European championships in Para cycling, Para archery, Para badminton, Wheelchair tennis, Boccia, Goalball, Wheelchair basketball, Para judo, Shooting para sport and Para taekwondo. This multisport event not only offers the chance for athletes to compete for gold medals, but also to gain qualification points or direct qualification for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
